Terms of Service

Welcome to Growth & Gold. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of growthandgold.com (the “Site”) and everything offered through it. That includes our books, digital products, prints, merchandise, the What’s Missing? quiz, the Ask Sara newsletter, question submissions, and our blog. By using the Site, making a purchase, or signing up for anything we offer, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
“Growth & Gold,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Growth & Gold LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company / corporation] based in North Carolina. “You” refers to anyone using the Site.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site, make purchases, take the quiz, subscribe to our emails, or submit questions. By using the Site, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. Educational Purpose Only
Everything Growth & Gold offers is for educational and self-reflection purposes. That includes our books, digital products, quiz, newsletter, blog, and Ask Sara responses. None of it is counseling, therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for care from a licensed mental health professional, and none of it creates a counselor–client or other professional relationship.
Sara is a graduate student in a CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and is not yet a licensed professional counselor. For full details on credentials, scope, and related professional disclosures, please read our Disclosures page. That page is part of these Terms.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in the U.S., or call 911. We do not monitor the Site, emails, or question submissions for emergencies. You can find an extensive list of other hotlines on our resources page.
3. Content Notice
Our work addresses difficult subjects, including childhood experiences, emotional pain, relationships, and conflict. It is written in a direct, unfiltered voice that may at times include strong language, including “profanity.” Please use your own judgment about what you are ready to read and when.
4. Products
Books. Our books are made by hand in North Carolina. Small variations in binding, trim, foil, and finish are a natural part of handmade production and are not defects. Our core needs series is sold as a bundle only; individual titles in that series are not sold separately. This is for the benefit of the reader, because they are truly best understood together.
Prints and merchandise. Colors may look different on screen than in print. We describe products as accurately as we can, but we can’t guarantee that every display shows them exactly, since every device allows users to modify their display as they wish. Growth & Gold LLC is not liable for any disappointing color results but returns are accepted within 30 days.
Digital products. These include worksheets, planner templates, flowcharts, and other downloadable files. They are delivered electronically after purchase, and some free downloads are offered too. They are designed for home printing in the sizes listed on each product page. Print results depend on your printer, paper, and settings. Growth & Gold LLC is not liable for any disappointing printing results.
Accuracy. We make every effort to describe each product clearly and accurately, including what it is, what it includes, and what it is not, so you can make an informed choice before buying.
5. Orders, Pricing, and Payment
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may change at any time, but a change won’t affect an order you’ve already placed. Payment is processed securely through our e-commerce platform and its payment providers (Stripe). We never see or store your full payment information. We may refuse or cancel any order, for example because of a pricing error, suspected fraud, or an inventory issue. If we cancel, we’ll issue a full refund.
6. Shipping
U.S. only. We currently ship physical products to U.S. addresses only.
Method. Books ship via USPS Media Mail, which is affordable but slower than other services and may take 2-8 business days after your order ships. Handmade orders ship within 3 business days. Prints ship USPS within 3 business days via first class mail. Merchandise ships via Printful.
Discreet packaging. Orders ship in plain packaging with no Growth & Gold branding on the outside. We understand that everyone’s situation is different and you may wish to keep your interest in these topics private.
Addresses and lost packages. Please double-check your shipping address; we aren’t responsible for orders sent to an address you entered incorrectly. Once a package is handed to USPS, delivery is in their hands. If your package is lost or arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date and we’ll work with you to make it right.
7. Returns and Refunds
Physical products.
Unopened physical products. Because our books are handmade and can be read in a single sitting, we accept returns only on bundles with the inner seal intact. Unopened items may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a refund of the purchase price, excluding original shipping. Return shipping is your responsibility.
Opened physical products. Once the seal is broken, the sale is final.
Damaged, defective, or incorrect items. If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photo, and we’ll replace it or refund you in full, including shipping.
Digital products. Because digital files can’t be returned once downloaded, all sales of digital products are final. If a file is corrupted, incomplete, or doesn’t download, contact us and we’ll send a working copy.
8. Digital Product License
Every digital product is sold with one of three licenses, chosen at checkout. Each license applies only to the product it was purchased with.
Personal License. A limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license for one person to download, print, and use the product for their own personal, non-commercial use.
Professional License. A license for one individual mental health professional, coach, or educator (licensed, pre-licensed, or under supervision) to print, distribute, and electronically share the product with their own individual clients. Clients may use the materials for their personal use in connection with the professional’s services. Sharing through secure client portals or email for telehealth clients is permitted.
Practice & Group License. A license for up to 15 professionals within a single practice, agency, or organization. Each may use the product with their own individual clients under the same terms as the Professional License. Licensed professionals may also use the product in live groups, classes, and workshops they lead, whether in person or virtual, and may distribute copies to participants for their personal use. Organizations with more than 15 professionals should contact us for custom terms.
Under every license, you may not:
post, upload, or distribute files publicly, including on websites, social media, or shared drives accessible to anyone outside your license;
share files with professionals or organizations not covered by your license;
resell or sublicense our materials;
include our materials in recorded courses, online programs, apps, books, or any product you sell, without a separate written agreement;
edit, rebrand, remove our copyright notice, or present our materials as your own;
state or imply that Growth & Gold endorses you, your practice, or your services.
Choosing the right license. You agree to purchase the license that matches how the product will be used and how many professionals will use it. If your use changes, such as adding professionals or beginning group use, you agree to upgrade your license.
Professional responsibility. Professionals using our materials are solely responsible for determining whether the materials are clinically appropriate for any client or group. Our materials are educational resources. They are not treatment protocols, clinical interventions, or validated assessment instruments.
Custom licensing. For organizations with more than 15 professionals, recorded or online courses, or other uses not listed here, contact us at info@growthandgold.com.

9. Intellectual Property
All Site content and products are owned by Growth & Gold and protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark law. That includes text, books, worksheets, quizzes, frameworks, designs, graphics, photos, logos, and the names Growth & Gold, What’s Missing?, and Ask Sara. You may share links to our pages and short quotes with clear credit to Growth & Gold. Anything beyond that requires our written permission.
10. The What’s Missing? Quiz
The quiz is a starting point for self-reflection. It is not a psychological assessment, test, screening tool, or diagnosis, and it has not been scientifically validated. Results reflect only your answers on the day you take it, and they may not capture your full experience. Please don’t use your results to make clinical, medical, legal, or other major decisions.
To receive your full results, you’ll be asked for your email address. When you provide it, you’ll receive your results and be subscribed to Ask Sara. Your result may be used to tailor which emails you receive. You can unsubscribe at any time.
11. Email and the Ask Sara Newsletter
You join our email list when you choose to: by subscribing, taking the quiz, downloading a free resource, or opting in at checkout. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. We may still send transactional emails about your orders, such as receipts and shipping notices.
We may tag subscribers by how they joined and what interests them so the emails you get are relevant to you. See our Privacy Policy for how your information is handled.
12. Submitting Questions to Ask Sara
Ask Sara is educational content, not individualized advice. Submitting a question does not create a counseling or professional relationship. We read submissions but can’t respond to every one, and we don’t respond privately.
When you submit a question:
Please do not submit emergencies. Submissions are not monitored in real time. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911.
Please don’t include your full name, other people’s names, or details that could identify you or anyone else.
You confirm the question is your own and is shared voluntarily.
You grant Growth & Gold a perpetual, royalty-free license to edit, condense, and publish your question in our newsletter, blog, books, or other materials. We will remove names and identifying details before publishing, and published questions will not be attributed to you by name.
Answers address the topic raised in general terms. They are not an assessment of you or anyone in your life, and they are not a substitute for professional care.
Submissions are handled according to our Privacy Policy. They are not protected by the confidentiality rules that apply to counseling, so please share only what you’re comfortable having handled this way.
13. Blog, Research, and External Links
Blog posts and research summaries are for general education. We cite our sources on the Site, and we work to keep content accurate and current, but research evolves and we can’t guarantee that any content is complete or error-free. Links to outside websites are provided for convenience; we don’t control or endorse those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
14. Reviews and Testimonials
If you submit a review or testimonial, you grant us permission to display it on the Site and in our materials, edited for length or clarity but never for meaning. You may ask us to remove it at any time. We do not solicit testimonials from anyone who is or has been in a counseling relationship with Sara.
15. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
use the Site for any unlawful purpose;
submit content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, or that identifies or targets another person;
attempt to interfere with, hack, or disrupt the Site, its security, or other users;
scrape, copy, or harvest Site content or user data by automated means;
use our content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models without written permission.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all products and content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where those warranties can’t legally be excluded. We don’t promise any particular outcome from using our books, products, quiz, or content. Your growth is yours, and results vary.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Growth & Gold and its owners, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, products, or content, including decisions you make based on them. Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms or your purchases is limited to the amount you paid us for the product giving rise to the claim.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Growth & Gold harmless from claims, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arise from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of our products or content, or content you submit.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [Person] County, North Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us first and give us [30] days to try to resolve it informally.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Changes don’t apply retroactively to purchases you’ve already made.
21. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclosures page, are the entire agreement between you and Growth & Gold regarding the Site.
